Description
Direct-Fit LSx, Vortec Engine Wiring for 1982-2004 Chevy S-10/ Blazer, GMC Sonoma / S-15/ Jimmy
Our Direct-Fit custom wiring harnesses are plug-and-play, custom built, and designed specifically for your project utilizing 97-up LSx or Vortec small block. Each harness is built from scratch specifically for your engine and vehicle combination. In most cases a Direct-Fit harness will allow you to retain all of the factory vehicle functions and gauges when doing an engine swap.
The main difference between our Direct-Fit custom harnesses and a standalone engine management harness is that the custom harness is exactly that… meaning it is built custom for your application. The standalone engine management harness is cheaper because it is designed to do nothing except run the engine, and supply any necessary signals such as speedometer and tachometer. The custom harness is built to include all of the functions that your vehicle will use, such as any factory gauges that can be used, any connectors that go to or through the firewall, relays to control the fans via the computer, and we will utilize the factory Neutral Safety switch if possible.
A Direct-Fit custom harness from Current Performance Wiring contains all of the electrical connections that are required for the vehicle that the engine is being installed in. These harnesses include relays for the fuel pump, starter, fans, A/C, etc. All fuses that are not in the vehicle already are included in the complete custom harnesses as well.
This harness is not only designed to plug right in to the project vehicle and engine, but since they are completely built from scratch, they can be made to your specs. If you are going for a clean install and want the ECU inside the passenger compartment, or all the way back in the trunk, we can make it exactly how you need.
Direct-Fit Custom Harnesses come covered in standard OE split loom but optional Braided loom is available for an extra charge.
S-10 V8 conversion harnesses are our specialty. Any S-10 or Sonoma of any year can be used as a nice bed for a V8 transplant. We build custom plug-and play-harnesses for the LSx and Vortec 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2 engines for any year GM truck. The S-10 trucks are a very popular vehicle for engine swaps of all kinds. Since our specialty is with these trucks, there are many variations offered to install a fuel injected chevy small block engine in any year truck. Below you will find a list of years and options that will make a bit of difference in the harness, as well as some information you will need to help make better decisions for your swap. Please be sure and read the extra information supplied in each year for certain things that you may or may not be aware of. When disconnecting the stock vehicle harness, all you will need to do is unplug it from any connections at the firewall, fenders, and anywhere else that a connector may be. The new harness should simply plug back in to any connectors, there should be no reason to remove or replace anything from the inside of the vehicle in most cases.
